Product Overview
ASTM A662 Carbon Boiler Plate is a carbon-manganese-silicon steel plate specification intended primarily for welded pressure vessels where improved low-temperature notch toughness is required.
Manufactured under strict metallurgical control, our A662 plates are widely specified for storage tanks, boilers, and pressure equipment operating in mid-to-low temperature environments in the petrochemical, gas processing, and energy sectors.

Key Material Advantages
Produced via fine-grain killed steel practice with low phosphorus and sulfur content, ensuring stable Charpy V-notch impact properties down to -46°C (-50°F) upon request.
Engineered with low carbon equivalents to optimize weldability, minimize preheating requirements, and prevent cold cracking in heat-affected zones (HAZ).
Heat treated via controlled normalization in automated furnaces to deliver consistent tensile strength and microstructural stability across thick plate sections.
Refined using Ladle Refining (LF) and Vacuum Degassing (VD) to remove dissolved gases and non-metallic inclusions, verified by 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

Dimensions, Tolerances & Processing Services
Dimensional Tolerances: Fully compliant with ASTM A20 / ASME SA20 standards (EN 10029 Class B/C tolerances available upon request).
Surface Preparation: Shot blasting (Sa 2.5) and shop-primer coating options available for corrosion control.
Edge Processing: Standard mill edge, flame cutting, or CNC precision shearing tailored to fabrication needs.

Manufacturing & Testing Process
Sponge Iron to Steelmaking: Produced via EAF/BOF + LF (Ladle Refining) + VD (Vacuum Degassing) to eliminate internal inclusions and gases.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT) performed according to ASTM A435 or ASTM A578 Level A/B/C.
Material Traceability: Original Mill Test Certificate (MTC) according to EN 10204 3.1 is supplied with each order. Third-party inspection (EN 10204 3.2) by SGS, TÜV, or BV is fully supported.

Seaworthy Packaging, Marking & Logistics
Surface Protection: Anti-rust oil coating, waterproof plastic film wrapping, and heavy-duty steel strapping with protective plastic edge guards.
Traceable Marking: Weatherproof stenciling on the plate face and hard die-stamping on plate edges showing Heat Number, Plate Number, Grade, Dimensions, and Mill Logo for clear identification at job sites and ports.
Shipment Options: Containerized loading (20ft/40ft) with hardwood dunnage or breakbulk vessel shipping for heavy/large-dimension plates.
